Revising scaling plans at the SRFSI Annual Review and Planning Meeting

The Annual Review and Planning Meeting for the Sustainable and Resilient Farming Systems Intensification project was held in Kathmandu from the 6th to the 8th of June.

This was an opportunity for partners to come together and focus on refining work plans for scaling project technologies. Scaling is the priority for the remainder of the project, with the goal of 1.5 million farmers using one or more CASI techniques by 2021.

As well as the core project team, participants also included representatives from potential scaling partners such as iDE Bangladesh, EcoDev solutions, the Prime Minister’s Agricultural Modernisation Program in Nepal, FORWARD Nepal and Dream Work solutions.

These initiatives may offer an opportunity to scale CASI techniques to wider groups of farmers, and to make current scaling efforts more effective.

Lead by Kate Fehlenberg, CIMMYT’s Scaling Advisor, the project team made good use of the three day meeting to exchange ideas, distil key lessons for success, and draft work plans for the next year of implementation.
